Pegunungan Dieng - Wonosobo
Dieng is a region in the highlands on the border between the District and County Banjarnegara Wonosobo, Central Java. Dieng name comes from the ancient Sundanese "On" meaning "place" or "mountain" and "Hyang" which means (God). Thus, Dieng mean mountain areas where the gods and goddesses residing. The temples in Dieng believed to be an early sign of Hindu civilization on the island of Java at the time of Sanjaya in the 8th century. This is indicated by a cluster of temples in Dieng who is said to worship the god Shiva. The temples are: Arjuna Temple, Temple Heroine, Puntadewa Temple, Temple Sembadra, Candi Gatot Kaca.
